Rashid Shaheed — 2026 Fantasy Outlook

Shaheed's college career at Weber State was brief but productive (146 catches for 2,164 yards and 18 touchdowns over five seasons), with 30 carries adding another 179 yards and two scores. His best individual season came in 2018 (41/442/5). New Orleans signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2022.

He made an immediate impression as a rookie, turning just 34 targets into 28 catches for 545 yards and three touchdowns, an 82.4% catch rate that told you everything about his potential and explosiveness. Shaheed made noise early with two first-touch scores (1/44/1 rushing and 1/53/1 receiving) and finished strong over the final five weeks (4/75, 3/95/1, 4/41, 6/79, and 3/34). He also contributed on special teams, returning 20 punts for 193 yards and 14 kickoffs for 320 yards.

Shaheed took a clear step forward in 2023, setting new career bests in every major receiving category (46 catches, 719 yards, five touchdowns, and 75 targets). His four best games were explosive (5/100/1 in Week 1, 2/103/1 in Week 6, 3/153/1 in Week 8, and 5/74/1 in Week 16), and he added 723 combined return yards and a score on special teams. Shaheed was on the field for 57.3% of New Orleans' offensive snaps and generated chunk plays consistently — 12 receptions of at least 20 yards, seven of which reached the 40-yard mark. A thigh injury cost him two games.

His 2024 season showed more of the same upside before it was cut short. Shaheed played well in four of his first six outings (3/73/1, 4/109/1, 8/97, and 4/86/1), sandwiched around a zero-catch game in Week 3 and a wasted opportunity in Week 6 (1/13 on seven targets). A torn meniscus in mid-October ended his season prematurely.

In a split year between New Orleans and Seattle, Shaheed set a career high in catches (59) and targets (92), leading to 756 combined yards but only two scores. He returned 23 punts for 339 yards and one score, with more chances in kickoffs with Seattle (14/418/1). Shaheed offered four playable games (4/52/1, 4/114/1, 9/75, and 5/68) with Seattle, but only two with the Seahawks (4/67 and 5/74).
