Tyjae Spears — 2026 Fantasy Outlook

As a rookie, Spears earned Tennessee's trust quickly. The Titans gave him the same snap count (558) as Derrick Henry, and he made the most of it. He finished with 838 combined yards, three touchdowns, and 52 catches on 152 touches, ranking 34th among running backs in PPR scoring (153.80 points). His best outings were spread throughout the season: a touchdown and 4-catch performance in Week 5, 16 carries for 89 yards with four catches in Week 13, 118 combined yards and six catches in Week 14, and a touchdown grab with 66 combined yards in Week 18.

His sophomore season was derailed early, and he never fully recovered. Tennessee eased him in over the first four weeks with limited snaps (29, 22, 20, and 27), producing 163 combined yards, a touchdown, and 12 catches on 39 touches. A hamstring injury in Week 5 cost him three games, and he returned to mostly empty stat lines over the following four contests (17 carries, 71 yards, six catches, and 14 receiving yards). He closed the year on a brighter note with three consecutive fantasy-relevant performances (27.20, 21.60, and 13.30 points in PPR formats) before a concussion ended his season in Week 18. It was a frustrating year that raised more questions than it answered about his role going forward.

Spears opened 2025 with four missed games due to an ankle injury. Tennessee gave him at least 10 touches in only four of his final 13 matchups, resulting in only productive days (Week 8 – 92 combined yards with one touchdown and three catches ~ Week 16 – 105 combined yards with a score and five catches). Despite the appearance of a weaker role, Spears was on the field for 46.3% of their plays.

Spears (ranked 57th in June) will be found in the RB5 aisle in most PPR formats this summer. He brings some explosiveness due to his pass-catching and sneaky scoring, but lacks the foundation skill set to be a workhorse running back if given an opportunity.
