MarShawn Lloyd — 2026 Fantasy Outlook
Analysis by Shawn Childs, from his 2026 guide — his words, unedited.
Lloyd accumulated just 325 touches across three college seasons, splitting time between South Carolina and USC. His final two years each produced 129 opportunities, with his stronger showing coming in 2023 (1,052 combined yards, nine touchdowns, and 13 catches), built on an efficient 7.1 yards per carry and 17.8 yards per reception. He had two standout games that year (14/154 with one catch for negative four yards, and a 17/115/2 game with three catches for 72 yards), but USC kept his rushing volume light, giving him fewer than 10 carries in seven of eleven games.
His college career began with a torn ACL in his left knee in 2020 at South Carolina, a significant early hurdle. As a runner, Lloyd plays with a low, grinding style, using a powerful first step to generate upfield momentum once he identifies a crease. He runs with patience and punishes defenders at the finish line. At the Combine, he ran a 4.46 40-yard dash and put up 25 reps on the bench press, affirming the functional strength behind his style. Lloyd projects as a grind-it-out back with the ability to break off explosive gains when given the opportunity.
His rookie season was derailed before it could get started — hamstring and ankle injuries limited him to just 10 plays in his lone appearance in Week 2, where he carried six times for 15 yards and added one catch for three more. Lloyd missed all of 2025 due to another hamstring issue, followed by a calf injury later in the year.
