In his sophomore season at Syracuse, Allen emerged as a three-down back, leading to 1,274 combined yards with 10 touchdowns and 38 catches on 283 touches. On the downside, he gained only 4.3 yards per rush and 5.5 yards per carry. Despite the appearance of below average running back, his output pushed even higher in 2024 (228/1,021/16 – 4.5 yards per carry with 64 catches for 521 yards and four touchdowns). Allen upped his yards per catch (8.1).

He came to the NFL with a high floor in pass protection. Allen runs with patience and rhythm on his rushes and route-running. His pass-catching value has multiple pluses, suggesting a natural advantage over Bhayshul Tuten on passing downs. He lacks explosiveness at the second level of a defense, while needing to up his power to win in tight quarters on inside runs.

In his first year with the Jaguars, Allen gained 148 combined yards with no touchdowns and 10 catches on 33 touches.
