Jordan Mason — 2026 Fantasy Outlook

Mason spent four seasons in a complementary backfield role at Georgia Tech, accumulating 2,823 combined yards, 18 touchdowns, and 25 catches before going undrafted in 2022 and signing with San Francisco. His first two years with the 49ers were quiet — 43 carries for 258 yards and a score in year one, followed by 40 carries for 206 yards in year two, with a combined three catches for 31 yards across both seasons.

Injuries to Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell thrust Mason into the starting lineup in Week 1 in 2024, and he made an immediate impression. Over his first four games, Mason absorbed 97 touches and rewarded those who took a chance on him in fantasy, producing 91 carries for 447 yards and three touchdowns alongside six catches for 57 yards (74.40 points in PPR formats across that stretch).

His hot start didn't last. Mason’s next three outings yielded just 9.80, 9.20, and 8.90 fantasy points, and a shoulder injury in Week 6 was the beginning of the end. A high ankle sprain eventually shut him down for the season, and between the two ailments, he was essentially a non-factor down the stretch (25 carries for 122 yards and a single catch for five yards over his remaining appearances).

It's a recurring theme with Mason. His NFL career has been punctuated by a laundry list of physical setbacks (hamstring, foot, hip, shoulder, and ankle issues), making durability the central question whenever his name surfaces in fantasy conversations.

Mason had a strange first season for the Vikings. He has RB1 snaps over his first six games (84/380/4 with nine catches for 84 yards), leading 12.40 PPR fantasy points per game. With Aaron Jones back on the field, Minnesota gave him only 8.6 touches over his last 11 games despite him gaining 4.8 yards per rush. Mason scored fewer than 6.00 fantasy points seven times down the stretch.
